Dominos pizza is a very well known pizza chain around the world. While they have many loyal customers, we are here to speak about in particular, Kirk Alexander. This man ordered basically everything on the menu and spent the last 10 years ordering pizza every single day. He knew the staff and the staff knew him. They waited each day for his order. Suddenly one day something changed. His order did not come through. The entire staff at Dominos was at a loss, what was going on?
The manager of the Dominos that Kirk was a regular at was named Sarah Fuller. She was in charge of everything at this branch. She admitted that it was very out of the ordinary that Kirk stopped ordering. This had not happened since the first day he placed an order.
The staff spoke to his neighbors who all said the same thing. Kirk was a quiet man who rarely opened his door. He kept to himself and there was no guarantee that if they knocked on the door, he would answer.
One neighbor, in particular, ben Theodoriches, said that he knew Kirk to the extent to know he was skilled with computers and technology. He had even visited his house a few times to help out. Kirk was surely a nice guy, he just preferred to keep to himself.
Although Kirk did not interact with his neighbors a lot, he did have several encounters with that staff at Dominos. This makes sense, they did deliver to his home for 10 years. According to Fuller, Kirk had a relationship with these delivery people.
11 Days With No Order
In 10 years, there was only one day that an order from Kirk did not come through. The staff was perplexed and a bit frustrated. They were very eager to know why Kirk did not place an order that day. They started to think about the possibilities that could explain why he did not order.
A Friend To The Employees
Days turned into weeks and there was no answer. The employees waited for his order but still, there was silence. Everyone was starting to worry when it reached 11 days without an order from Kirk.
Enjoyed Each Item
Sarah, the manager, said that Kirk was not like the other customers. He had a relationship to a certain extent with all employees and he had been ordering every day for 10 years! They started to get nervous.
Kirk was not just an everyday customer. He was a friend to them and some considered him family. They started to consider the idea of him ordering from somewhere else. This idea was a possibility, but it definitely hurt their feelings.
Although Kirk ordered something new each day, the staff managed to recognize it each time as his order. He was an exciting customer to serve because he was willing to try basically everything and anything on the menu.
Reaching Out To 911
The employees were not sure why he wasn’t ordering, but either way, they started to get anxious. Enough was enough. They could not wait any longer and they decided to send one member to Kirk’s home to check things out. They needed some information to calm down.
Calling For Help
The courageous member sent on the mission was Tracey Hamblen. He came to Kirk’s home and immediately noticed the house lit. This meant someone had to be home. Then he heard the TV set. He approached the door, certain Kirk would answer.
Sadly, there was no one to answer the door for him. Tracey continued knocking, each time more vigorously. He started to scream Kirk’s name, but there was no response. Tracey let the staff know what was going on and they decided together that the best course of action would be to call 911.
Making The Decision
They were hoping to get some answers but instead became more nervous. That night, all of the employees were anxious together and chose to call 911 to get to the bottom of it. They needed something to calm down.
Tracey Hamblen was hoping to return to the branch with good news. He banged on the door and yelled Kirk’s name. After time had passed he knew he needed to report back to Sarah and his coworkers.
Sigh Of Relief
There was no response on Kirk’s end and no sign of him. At that point, all they could do was call for help. They picked up the phone and dialed for officials to help. Everyone waited anxiously as 911 answered.
A Humbling Experience
Tracey got on the phone and explained the situation calmly. He said he was calling from Dominos pizza, to report the disappearance of one of their customers. 911 had a serious of questions to ask and was then forwarded to Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Explaining The Situation
Again, Tracey explained the story in detail. He did not want to leave out any information. He explained their background with Kirk and how he stopped ordering out of nowhere. They had plenty of questions as well and Tracye cooperated with him to answer everything. The employees started to calm down knowing that they had authorities to take over.
The sheriff’s department sent a team of officials over to Kirks’ home. They rushed over and began banging on the door. Despite their persistence, there was only silence on the other side of the door. Come on Kirk just answer!
After several moments they started to hear a little bit of noise from inside. They pieced it together and understood that it was Kirk calling for help. They broke down the door to see Kirk lying there. Without hesitation, they called the hospital. Kirk had a history of strokes.
The sheriff officials were concerned by the noise inside Kirk’s home and could not wait to break the door down. When they opened the door they saw Kirk looking helpless and very weak. They waited as the ambulance arrived.
Found At Last
The employees at Dominos made the best decision that day when they decided to call Kirk. If they had waited even a few minutes, Kirk may not have survived. We are so grateful for the entire staff at Dominos pizza, Tracey, 911, and the Marion County Sherrif’s department for all working together.
They are not completely sure as to why he was lying on the floor, but most likely he had a stroke. The paramedics arrived in the knick of time and made sure he was stable. Nobody is certain how long he was there.
Luckily, everyone who made sure he got to the hospital saved his life. The happy announcement was passed to the chain of Dominos and they were ecstatic to hear Kirk was doing okay. Sarah Fuller explained this.
Sarah’s assistant manager is named Jenny Seiber and she assured everyone that they would end over flowers and gifts to Kirk. They wanted him to know that they were thinking of him and cared about him.
As soon as they could, the staff paid a visit to his home. The first time they saw Kirk he was not very responsive, only yes or no answers. However, as of now he is doing much better and has been moved to the rehabilitation facility
The director of public relations, Jenny Fouracre works in Ann, Arbor, Michigan. She was very content to hear about Kirks’ healing process and how the employees treated and cared for Kirk. She said that this reflects their overall customer service at Dominos.
Proud Of The Team
Also, she said that they were extremely proud of Tracey and the other staff members. This just shows how much Dominos cares about its customers. All branches believe in creating strong relationships with their customers.
She continued to say that this was not the first time Dominos employees showed such kindness. The managers at Dominos make it their mission to hire employees with compassion and a high level of morality. They commend themselves on this.
Doing Their Job
While they received a great amount of recognition and admiration for their actions, the staff did not see it as something special. For them, this was just part of their job. They felt that being loyal to their customers was obligated.
While they did not view it as out of the ordinary, the rest of us can see how special this. The employees are truly special. This story was brought to news outlets and within no time the story was viral around the world.
The story made it to Tv and both Sarah Fuller and Jenny Seiber were welcomed on Good Morning America. They shared what happened with Kirk and them along with all of the employees were applauded for their actions and caring choices.
They also commented on Kirk’s recovery and said it was going quickly and smoothly. They also said that they go and check up on Kirk whenever they can. While they were not technically family, they wanted to be part of his healing.
Out Of It
Jenny, the assistant manager, visited Kirk the most. She said that the first time she visited the hospital, Kirk was still just getting out of operation and he could not communicate fully. However, with time there was a great improvement.
At the end of the TV appearance, they were offered a great surprise. This was a gift of gratitude to show how thankful they were for how the employees acted. They were awarded free tickets to the film “Captain America: Civil War”. It did not stop there.
The staff received more surprises from the Dominos Pizza administration. The managers and Tracey were all invited to the company’s annual main event in Las Vegas! They were so eager and excited to attend.
Tracey Hamlen received his own admiration by the sheriff department. They were so pleased with his courage and quick instincts. His actions allowed the authorities to arrive in the right amount of time to save Kirk’s life.
Not only was Hamblen seen as an excellent delivery man. But now he was viewed as a hero. He acted out of selflessness and acted very fast in the face of fear. He ultimately saved Alexander’s life.
The employees continued visiting Kirk. They were pleasantly surprised by his process after the first day they visited him. He was making his way back to health and they were so happy to be there for the journey.
On The Mend
If Kirk suffered a stroke then his healing process was going to take some time. However, they were confident that he would come full circle soon enough. Now, every time they see his order pop up they can not control their excitement.
