There was a post on her Instagram page which discussed her plan. The caption read, “For at least 100 days I’ll be wearing this dress, through ceramics projects, blizzards, whatever. Boring? Sure. I love to express myself through what I wear as much as the next American. This is a challenge.” But why did she feel a need for such an ordeal to put herself through? She had numerous reasons behind all this, it later turned out.

The first reason why, for a hundred days, she decided to wear the same outfit is basic. This merely saves so much time for her! Since she had two toddlers to take care of, it was a good choice to pursue a minimalist lifestyle. Obviously, Julia had better things to do with her time than picking out a dress to wear. However, it was not the only explanation behind her commitment. She also wanted to make a declaration about consumerism.
