She asked to leave before the contract expired, but the producers waited until her contract was up before granting her request. Rickards brought Felicity Smoak to life on the hit CW show. The actress said that the role took “seven years of [her] twenties” and felt bad about her decision since fans had “fall[en] in love” with her character. This made it difficult for her to “say goodbye.” Despite this, she was determined to move forward and try other roles. The writers of Law & Order: SVU wrote off Elliott Stabler, who was portrayed by Christopher Meloni. It was a pretty sudden and anticlimactic conclusion to his work. However, the explanation for this came from contract negotiations that did not go well. The actor had been asking for a higher salary at the start of the twelfth season, a request that the network had not been willing to grant him. This is the reason the character instead got killed off during the finale. However, fans of the franchise will be happy to hear that he is going to make a comeback. In April 2020, Good Housekeeping announced that the actor is going to return to the legal drama. We cannot wait to see what happens!
