Josh Charles
It took a year before Josh Charles could leave The Good Wife. His contract was up, which made him think about whether to return or not. Around that time, he proposed to his girlfriend of the time as well! In the end, he decided that he was not going to come back to the show. The writers had no choice but to kill off Will Gardner, his character, as a plot twist. The New York Times went as far as to say that his death made viewers “gasp.” It goes without saying that audiences had been sad to have to say goodbye to his character on the show!
Raymond Cruz
As Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad, Raymond Cruz made the character memorable by turning him into such a live wire. Cruz explained that he wanted to be written off because he would get too physically drained on the set. He explained that working on the set for twelve to fourteen hours a day had been “physically, emotionally, and mentally” tiring for him. When the character killed off, the actor admitted to feeling “happy.” He also said that he had a hard time dealing with the brutality of his character, who he later reprised in Better Call Saul.
