Event on the horizon
As I sat there, I remembered a local wildlife fair that was coming up. “Maybe there will be something about calangos there,” I thought out loud, thinking that this would be a good opportunity to learn even more. “Should I go and see it?”, I asked myself with a mixture of excitement and curiosity. The event seemed like the ideal place to gather new information while meeting people who shared my current fascination with these creatures.

Inspired, I picked up the phone and called Dr. Allen. “Doctor, how about we make more people aware of this issue?” He paused before replying, “That’s an excellent idea! These little creatures deserve to be noticed.” We talked about how to engage the community and communicate the importance of wildlife conservation. It was reassuring to imagine contributing to something bigger, not only for our mystery visitor, but also for the environment in general. It seemed like the right time to act.
