The Highlight Problem
Other parents did not entirely agree with someone so young getting highlights. These people said that they would also be upset if their child had those treatments done without their consent or knowledge. However, they also clarified that this did not mean they support what Schaffen chose to do in return.

A lot of people felt like 13 years old was not old enough for a girl to start using hair dyes. They said that the exception is Halloween, but it should be wash-out hairspray or wigs. There were those who did not have any issues with it since it was only temporary. Everyone agreed that cutting the hair was not right.
