The Lockheed XFV-1 Salmon
The Lockheed XFV-1 Salmon, which was also known as merely the Salmon, was an aircraft built and designed for the U.S. military. It was invented to have a vertical take-off – little did they know that landing it through the same vertical way would be very strange to look at. Another thing that made the Salmon unsuccessful was the fact that its engine broke after a few flights.
The Grumman X-29
The Grumman X-29 was an aircraft built for experimentation done by Grumman, its creator, with the company of the United States Air Force and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). If you would look at its appearance, it had a very unique and fantastic design; however, if you would look at it technically, its forward-swept wings made the aircraft unstable during flight. Such a structure made the Grumman X-29 almost impossible to be flown through the air.
