Shirt Loops
T-shirts and nice collared shirts have these loops. Apparently, this began with the Navy. Since closet space is limited out at sea, sailors hang their shirts using these loops. In the ‘60s, college students also used the loops to keep shirts neat and wrinkle-free during gym class. These days, manufacturers add them because they are a sign of class and quality.

Colored Toothpaste Squares
The colored block at the bottom of a toothpaste tube is more than just an aesthetic choice. The blue, black, green, or red block is called an “eye mark”. The assembly line machines use the eye mark to know which part of the tube should be folded and cut.
