The movie went through a lot of directors. Before being “burned out,” Chris Columbus directed the first two films. The third was directed by Alfonso Cuaron, the fourth was directed by Mike Newell, and the final four were directed by David Yates. When a new producer took charge, they all got together to make sure the movie ran smoothly.

Sorcerer Or Philosopher?
The American versions are referred to as “Sorcerer’s Stone,” although all other versions are referred to as “Philosopher’s Stone.” Scholastic purchased the book’s rights for the American market and didn’t like the sound of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. As a result, the studio got that altered, and all of the movie’s scenes, including the word “philosopher’s stone,” had to be re-shot with the actors saying “sorcerer’s stone.”
