The star’s on-screen look, inspired by rocker Billy Idol, gave an iconic physicality to the character – cool but at the same time creepy. “[Sutherland] has the least amount of dialogue of anyone in the movie, but his presence is extraordinary,” Schumacher said on The Lost Boys: An Introspective. Sutherland’s influence was also felt in later films such as Young Guns (1988), A Few Good Men (1992), and Dark City (1993). (1998). The actor collaborated with Schumacher on many occasions. They went on to make four more films after The Lost Boys, including the 1990 film Flatliners. The following decade saw Sutherland immersed in filmmaking, but it was a role on television that catapulted his stardom to new heights.
