Star, played by Jami Gertz, was instrumental in persuading Michael to join the Lost Boys as the pack’s only female member. The actors’ effect on each other was fittingly close even before the shooting started, despite the fact that their positions were reversed in real life. Patric and Gertz had previously collaborated, and he was the one who persuaded her to audition for the film. But we should thank Patric for that.

Schumacher was so taken with Gertz’s screen presence that he changed his plans for Star to match Gertz’s appearance. Despite her performances in The Lost Boys and other films such as Twister, the actress finally chose to leave the industry. In reality, she began playing on a completely different court than before.
