For most of us, our fridges are used to display reminders and photos. Soldiers make use of the surface as well, though for a different purpose. You will notice theirs are full of war memorabilia and other souvenirs from their time in the military.

Saluting
In the military, a salute is used as an everyday greeting so it might be hard to drop the habit once they head back to civilian life. If someone salutes you, there is no need to worry. Just say hi or salute back!
