With her intense desire to have children, Nadya went on pushing the issue also because she believed that if the traditional way did not work for them, other methods had to be tried. However, Marcos was completely against them and the couple’s opposing views started to create a gap between Nadya and her husband. What pushed Marcos over the edge was Nadya suggesting that she undergo IVF or in vitro fertilization, which involves a fertilized egg being implanted into the uterus of a woman. Marcos told Nadya that if she pushed through with the said procedure, he would definitely leave her.

A Difficult Choice
Nadya had a difficult decision to make seeing as she had to choose between her love for Marcos and her biggest dream of having children. If she stayed married, she would have to give up her lifelong dream, so she decided to take a chance and pursue the thing that she always wanted. Even though it was really difficult for Nadya, she got a divorce in 2000. With her former husband no longer in her life, she made a decision to have IVF and start the family she always dreamed of, though things did not quite turn out as as she wanted.
