Michael J. Fox
In Family Ties, we got to see Michael J. Fox at the height of his career. It first came out in 1982 and came to an end in 1989. The actor later revealed that he was “almost fired” since his face “wasn’t handsome enough” for the fan merch. The showrunners ended up changing their mind. Like many entries on the list, the show ended in a two-part finale. NBC gave it the ax because its ratings had been on the decline. NBC has the rights to the show, so the stars were not privy to the residuals. The actor shared that he once had to hitchhike to the set because of its low pay.

Fred Savage
In The Wonder Years, Fred Savage brought Kevin Arnold the life. The character was a teenage boy in the suburbs during the late ‘60s. It went on for 115 episodes and had a theme song called “With a Little Help from My Friends.” Yes, it was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon of the Beatles. ABC owns all the rights to the drama, so the stars do not get residual checks. Many fans felt that the cancelation was very abrupt. Apparently, it was brought about by a conflict between the studio execs and the producers. The latter wanted to add more mature storylines to reflect the growth of the main character. However, the execs did not approve of that idea. In the end, they decided just to end it.
