The actor also starred in Joey, a spinoff of the show focused on his character. Sadly, it was only on the air from 2004 to 2006l. Its short run was brought about by the fact that the ratings did not make the execs happy. Aside from that, critics did not like it either. The first episode of the show might have seen 4.1 million views, but they started to drop not long after that. Even so, it had a viewership of 10.1 million views, which was average for the network. Once the ratings dropped down to 4.1 million, NBC made the call to pull the plug on it. The spinoff show had 46 episodes in total, but the network did not air eight of them.
