Koko Ware Vs. The Masked Patriot

Koko Ware had a “Birdman” stint in the WWE from September 1986 to June 1994. This gimmick made him famous for his vivid clothing in the ring and his macaw bird Frankie. Before he entered WWE, he was integral in the CWA promotion in the Memphis wrestling scene. He won tag team titles seven times when he was working there and then six times in the NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Championship. In 1986, he appeared on the CWA weekly show by WMC-TV studios. His opponent for the day was The Masked Patriot. It all began heatedly as the Masked Patriot backed him into a corner and punched him on the jaw. In retaliation, he clubbed his fists and whipped the Patriot into the ropes to deliver a clothesline that knocked out his opponent. Ware then laid shoot kicks into him before hauling his body up to deliver a shoot brainbuster. Ware topped it off with a slap for good measure at the pin!

Taz Vs. Sabu

These days, Sabu and Taz are on good terms. However, they used to hate another a lot. In the ‘90s, they basically built up ECW as the longest-running grapplers of the promotion. In 1994, they claimed the ECW World Tag Team titles from the hands of Public Enemy. They were meant to defend the title during an upcoming arena show, but Sabu got booked in Japan. Taz only had the occasional show back then, so he gave promo shoot after promo shoot about Sabu to try to provoke him into the ring. They were finally booked for the first pay-per-view the company ever had. The stiff match led to a busted nose on Sabu. They continued to fight in a match that lasted 18 minutes. They wrestled a couple of times more in the past. Taz would even go on to break Sabu’s neck!
