The Ghost Army Of World War 2
The Ghost Army, also known as the 23rd Headquarters Special Troops, are one of the smartest military units ever created. Although they are no longer in service, their legacy lives on. This unit was actually no unit, or army at all; all it consisted of was inflatable tanks, fake uniforms and loudspeakers blaring the sounds of tanks rolling into positions. The enemies were not only fearful, but they also became confused, proving this unit was one of the most successful of its kind. During World War II, The Ghost Army threw the Germans off, propelling them into attacking the wrong location, and in the end awarding a victory to the allies.
Korps Mariniers
The Netherland’s Maritime Special Operations Forces (NLMARSOF) are the country’s Marine Corps elite units. This special forces unit deals with everything: from parachutes and snowmobiles, to submarines and mountain warfare. They are prepared and trained for everything and anything. Impressively, in just 48 hours, they’re able to be deployed to any location in the world; makes sense as their motto is “Qua Patet Orbis” or “As Far As The World Extends.”
