Keep That In Mind
There are a lot of signs you can find when you go to the airport. But this sign at New Zealand’s Princess Juliana Airport in St. Maarten didn’t look like something we’ve seen before. It warned travelers to stay clear of the runway, despite being too close to the parking spots. Not only is this a big safety hazard, but New Zealand has already got a poor reputation in terms of airport safety.
Meet The K-911
You generally don’t worry about it, but there are airports that run the risk of wild animals running across the runway. As this happened before, airport workers relied on traps to make sure the animals didn’t go where they’re not expected to be. That said, Cherry Capital Airport in Michigan has opted to use a new approach. Piper, a Border Collie, was employed to run around the perimeter of the airport. His duty is to chase these wild animals away and keep the passengers safe from harm.
