Nothing More Than A Huge Mistake
Two sparklers were lit by Kristopher: one for him and the other for his best pal. They both stared at the sparks that were tumbling down their arms. As they made tracers, drew patterns, and relived their fond memories of childhood, they waved the sticks around. They had no idea at the time that this was going to be the source of Kristopher’s headache. He recounted later, “One of the little sparkies from mine and my friends’ sparkler made contact with the ground and made two small fires…”

They hadn’t expected things would get out of hand. The backyard was, unfortunately, so dry that two small fires soon turned into a raging inferno. To their horror, the flames were also approaching the neighbor’s yard. “I ran as fast as I could to grab the garden hose and quickly started spraying down the fire. It was no use; it was spreading faster than I could spray it,” said Kristopher.
