A Priceless Painting
A priceless painting by the famous Dutch artist Willem De Kooning called ‘Woman-Ochre’ was missing. Only a piece of canvas was left. The painting had been cut out using some kind of blade. The police didn’t find any fingerprints. The only clue they had was the description of the mysterious pair and their getaway car that the security guard told the authorities. They also didn’t have a license plate number.

A prominent painter, Willem De Kooning created abstracts during the mid-century expressionist movement. His paintings are extremely valuable. In fact, one of his paintings has fetched a staggering $137.5 million. For more than three decades, the infamous art heist of the ‘Woman-Ochre’ had been unsolved. It was only when an unassuming dealer realized that there was something in his antique store in Silver City which probably shouldn’t have been there.
