Tomatoes
Tomatoes are another fruit that is high in potassium. Served raw or stewed, tomatoes are commonly used to make sauces. A cup of tomato sauce has over 900 mg of potassium. Taste preference is the main factor in finding an alternative with lower amounts of potassium. However, an equally delicious alternative that has less potassium is roasted red pepper sauce.

Pre-Made Meals
Processed foods often contain extremely high amounts of sodium. Packaged, pre-made and instant meals are generally the most processed, so they have the highest levels of sodium. Things like instant noodles, microwaveable meals, and frozen pizza can be the worst. It can be quite a challenge to keep your sodium intake less than 2,000 mg per day if you eat processed foods regularly.
