Silvio Horta, an American screenwriter, and producer, will be remembered for adapting the Colombian soap opera, Yo soy Betty, la fea, to ABC’s Ugly Betty. For Best Comedy Series, he accepted the Golden Globe-Ugly Betty-mentioning, “Like most of us up here, Betty is an immigrant, and The American Dream is alive and well and in reach of anybody who wants it.” Often mispronounced as a humorous mention of their last name, the first ten Cuban-Americans started their own production company, Silent H Productions.
