However, despite recording their first demo, he left the band after their first year. Slater went on to produce several projects, including four albums by Queensrÿche, a progressive rock band. However, after suffering from liver failure, he died at the age of 49 on December 9, his daughter, Alyssa Carlson, confirmed to TMZ.
