As Derek Morgan, Shemar Moore was a fan favorite on Criminal Minds for years on end. He said that he had already “grown” by taking on the job and would miss the show and the character. However, he wanted to have a personal life, which the show was preventing him from doing. He informed TV Guide about the decision to leave by saying that he was looking to “pursue” other things in life such as traveling, marrying, and having kids. The actor did not have a lot of free time to do these things thanks to the demanding filming schedule of the show, so he felt like he had to leave.

Lethal Weapon was shaken to its core when show regular Damon Wayans announced his departure from the show. He said that he was doing it because of “health reasons.” In 2018, he officially left the role of Roger Murtagh after the taping was over. However, what made things a bit complicated was that his contract has not yet expired at the time! During the three seasons that the show ran on Fox, it saw a number of cast swap-outs until it came to an end in 2019.
