Anthony Edwards
In 2001, the world found out that Dr. Mark Greene was permanently hanging up his scrubs! Anthony Edwards brought the fan-favorite to life on ER from 1994. However, his contract was not enough to make him continue with the role even though it was worth $35 million. “I think the next season will be it,” he said at one point. “It’s been eight years of my family working around my schedule. It’s been a long time playing Dr. Greene.” Even though fans were sad to hear the news, it was a personal win for the actor. After such a long time on the show, he felt the need to focus on other bigger things.
Jeff Conaway
When Taxi first came out in 1983, Jeff Conaway had been a hit among the viewers. At the time, he had been looking for his big break after he played Kenickie in Grease. However, he did not see his career take off in the same way that John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John did. It was a good thing that the actor got his big break by playing Bobby Wheeler in the sitcom. Unfortunately, his issues with substance abuse affected his work. He had been on the show for three seasons, it soon became clear that he needed to get his act together. In 2011, he passed away at the age of 60.
