Neither of the two schools from North Dakota made Forbes’ best colleges list made it into the top 350. That does not, however, imply that North Dakotans are having difficulty finding jobs. In 2019, the state tied with Vermont for the lowest unemployment rate in the United States, with just 2.4 percent of the total population unemployed.

The Badger State may be buried deep in the educational charts, but its schools have earned their stripes. According to WalletHub, it has the 13th-best overall education quality and the fourth-best average quality of its universities. The University of Wisconsin – Madison, which was ranked 69th in the country on Forbes’ top colleges’ list, is the best school in America’s Dairyland. Graduates’ career opportunities in Wisconsin are also promising. In 2019, the overall unemployment rate was 3.3 percent, which was lower than the national average.
