When she was interviewed by the Daily Mirror, royal expert Ingrid Seward weighed in on the issue in December 2019. She claimed on that occasion that the photos arranged for the Queen’s broadcast seemed to appear to “represent the idea of a slimmed-down monarchy. All the media problems with Harry and Meghan must have worried [the Queen].” Regardless, she said the Queen “would never be so underhand as to deliberately omit their picture.”
