Some Aren’t On Board
Paige Spiranac said that she had received a bad reputation because of her outfit choices. She had been subjected to awful name-calling simply because of the way she dressed herself up. Paige even claimed that she had been denied from helping in some charity events because of her reputation. She had only wanted to help those who were less fortunate than she was, but this was a heavy blow for Paige. She hoped that the other women would not experience such things. In answer to her being bullied, she posted on Twitter, “I also want to make it clear I’m not saying poor me or playing the victim. I know I’m going to get hate for what I wear and speaking out. I’m just facing it head-on now instead of worrying about being accepted. I will never change myself so that I can fit in.”
A Role Model
One of Paige’s goals was to become a role model for young women. She had always encouraged other women to feel welcome in sports and tried inspiring other girls to try out even sports that had been dominated by men. She hoped that someday, more women would become athletes even to sports mainly played by males.
