The Terrifying Creepy-Crawlies At The Bottom Of The Ocean
Even though they are not exactly pill bugs nor crabs, we are sure that they are related. When it comes to creepy-crawlies, giant isopods are some of the biggest you will ever find. The bottom-feeders only grow to exceed a length of 14.2 inches. In 2010, someone pulled one of them from the water and could not believe that it was 2.5 feet long! The theory is that its massive size helps it survive the high pressure at the bottom of the ocean. We are also sorry to report that they are carnivores. How terrifying is that?!
Just How Great Are The Biggest Great White Sharks In All Of History?
Well, it should come as no surprise that Great White Sharks are, well, great. On average, these creatures grow to be 20 feet long and weigh 5,000 pounds. It turns out that they can grow a lot bigger than that. In fact, the Guinness Book of World Records says that the two biggest specimens had been 36 and 37 feet long! The bigger one had been found in Port Fairy, South Australia all the way back in the 1870s. On the other hand, the smaller shark was found in New Brunswick, Canada in the 1930s!
