Dreams Of Becoming A Doctor
Newlander had originally aspired to be a doctor. In reality, he took up acting to help pay for his college tuition. But fate had other plans. Schumacher gave a lecture to Newlander’s acting class. When auditioning for The Lost Boys, the young actor used this to his advantage. Newlander made another major appearance in the 1988 film The Blob, following his role as Frog on the big screen.

The response is no, Newlander did not go on to become a doctor. Instead of studying medicine, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in acting at New York University. Newlander then moved on to writing and directing, eventually founding WikisoapTM, an online user-created soap opera. Newlander, on the other hand, reappeared in front of the camera in Lost Boys: The Thirst, in which Alan Frog becomes a member of the undead himself.
