Great Acclaim
Hermann continued to act in films and television after The Lost Boys and earned critical acclaim. His performance on The Practice won him an Emmy in 1999. He also endeared himself to a large number of fans when he played Richard Gilmore on The Gilmore Girls. This illustrious career, however, came to a sad end in 2014. Hermann died of brain cancer at the age of 71.

Alan is one of the crusaders battling against the swarm of undead in Santa Carla, alongside his brother Edgar. He also works as a shop assistant at their family’s comic book store. Did you know, however, that Alan was originally written as an eight-year-old boy? That’s right, you read that correctly. Finally, they wanted to make Alan look a little older. Jamison Newlander, who is 17 years old, was a perfect match for the part.
