Billy Wirth Played Dwayne
The solid, brooding Dwayne had to be played by someone with just enough sex appeal, according to Joel Schumacher. Fortunately, Billy Wirth, a former model, had a lot of it. “I said, ‘I’m going to put [Wirth] in a motorcycle jacket with no shirt on, and he’s going to be a fabulous Lost Boy,’” the director told Empire in 2020. In the film, Dwayne is the second vampire to appear.
More Than Eye Candy
Wirth, on the other hand, appeared to be more than just a pretty face. The Brown University alum became a jack of all trades after the release of The Lost Boys in theaters. He went into filmmaking, music, and became an artist in addition to acting. In 1989, he appeared on American Gladiators. He also appeared on Sex and the City, CSI, and Charmed, among other famous TV shows.
