Civilians might be free to get their hair styled in whichever way they want, though soldiers do not get the same liberty. Soldiers all get a buzz cut, no questions asked. They can choose a different one only after they are done with service!

At the start, soldiers are taught to assess and scan situations. They need to observe and check if there is anything out of the ordinary. This is why you should not be surprised to find your soldier friend instinctively begins to scan a room or the park during an outing!
