She started to make a name for herself on soap operas. At first, she took on small roles to focus on her kids. Another claim to fame was the role of Ellen Craig in St. Elsewhere. She won an Emmy alongside her real-life and onscreen husband for their individual portrayals of Mark and Ellen Craig!
