Donna Dixon was a blonde beauty who embodied the state of Virginia in the 1976 Miss USA beauty contest, but she came in second place. She returned to the Miss USA beauty pageant a year later, this time representing the District of Columbia, and she was named the 1st Miss World USA runner-up. Dixon landed his first major television role in the ABC sitcom Bosom Buddies, alongside Peter Scolari and Tom Hanks. Bosom Buddies was a two-season sitcom that aired from 1980 to 1982.

Donna Dixon’s first project after the cancellation of Bossom Buddies was a leading role in the Doctor Detroit movie. Dixon married Dan Aykroyd while filming the sitcom in 1983. They have collaborated on a number of films and television shows. During her 17-year career, Dixon has appeared in films such as Twilight Zone: The Movie, Spies Like Us, Wayne’s World, Exit to Eden, and The Nanny. She decided to retire in 1997 after having three daughters.
