The Patriot
Many people know American retired pro wrestler Del Wilkes as The Patriot, whose career only lasted seven short years but was a huge hit amongst wrestling fans. Aside from his stint in the WWF, he also spent time wrestling for other organizations, including All Japan Wrestling. He was especially popular when his fights were against other wrestlers that were anti-American. At the age of 58, The Patriot still wrestlers every now and then.
Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart
He may have started his wrestling career in the early 1970s, but Bret “The Hitman” Hart continued to wrestle until 2000. He was extremely popular in spite of not being the most successful wrestler in the WWE. His role in wrestling is definitely significant and he is credited with the change in perception of mainstream professional wrestling in North-America in the early 1990s. Hitman was usually seen with his metallic sunglasses, which surely elevated his macho look even more.
