Canned Foods
Canned foods like beans, vegetables, and soups typically contain very high amounts of sodium as shelf life is increased with the addition of salt. People with kidney disease should limit or completely avoid the consumption of canned foods. Going for lower-sodium foods or the ones with the “no salt added” label is normally the best. You can also reduce the amount of sodium in canned foods, such as canned beans and tuna, by 33 to 80 percent if you drain and rinse the product.
Whole-Wheat Bread
People with kidney disease may find choosing the right bread confusing. Even though whole wheat bread is the more nutritious choice for being rich in fiber, people with kidney disease are normally recommended to choose white bread. This is because whole wheat bread contains plenty of phosphorus and potassium. The more whole grains and bran in the bread, the higher the levels of these minerals. There is also a high amount of sodium in most breads, either whole wheat or not.
