Shelley Long
The actress made up her mind to leave Cheers on December 15, 1986. It turns out that she decided that her character had already run its course. She and co-star Ted Danson had already delivered “really terrific work” on the show. At the time, Long wanted to work on more projects for the big screen. Her final episode on the show came out on May 7, 1987. Even though she was supposed to stay on for one more season, she left early. Her costar Kelsey Grammer said that she might have left partly because she disliked his character and got mad that he was made a regular on the show. According to him, she kept trying to cut out some of his one-liners from the show!
Farrah Fawcett
Thanks to her amazing performance in Charlie’s Angels, Farrah Fawcett was shot into stardom. Her famous 1976 swimsuit poster helped her get the highest amount of fan mail and the most media coverage among the Angels. Aside from that, she received critical acclaim for her depiction of the character. Sadly, she eventually admitted that she was not happy with the way that the show was portraying her and the other characters to the viewers. This was the reason she decided to leave after only one season of it. She made her last appearance on the hit TV show in May 1977.
