Missouri – Adults With At Least A Bachelor’s Degree: 32%
The Show-Me State doesn’t have much to brag about; both attainment and efficiency are in the bottom 20. Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri’s highest-rated institution, came in at No. 31 on Forbes’ list, but it was the state’s only college to make the top 150. Regardless, Missourians have no difficulty finding work. With 3.3 percent of the state’s total population unemployed in 2019, the state’s unemployment rate was lower than the national average.
Ohio – Adults With At Least A Bachelor’s Degree: 31%
When it comes to educational results, Ohio is in the center of the pack. Even though Ohio’s three highest-rated schools all did fairly well on Forbes’ ranking, citizens of the Buckeye State aren’t rushing to get their degrees. While the total student loan debt in Ohio is under $30,000, the percentage of graduates still in debt is very high, at 60%. Also, the state’s unemployment rate was slightly higher than the national average in 2019.
