Georgia – Adults With At Least A Bachelor’s Degree: 34%
The Peach State can provide a good education, but its attainment rate isn’t particularly high. It ranks well below the median on WalletHub. Those interested in furthering their education have a wide range of choices. Georgia’s top three colleges all made Forbes’ top 100 list, with Emory University taking the top spot at No. 55 and the Georgia Institute of Technology coming in second at No. 65. Graduates should also expect to find work waiting for them when they graduate. Georgia’s statewide unemployment rate, at 3.4 percent of the total population, was lower than the national average in 2019.
South Dakota – Adults With At Least A Bachelor’s Degree: 31%
Mount Rushmore State faces some difficulties. It falls just short of the target in terms of attainment, then plummets in terms of quality. South Dakota’s universities have the third-lowest average quality in the nation, and its best-rated institution, Augustana University, barely made it into Forbes’ top 400. At 74 percent, South Dakota is tied with New Hampshire for the highest number of graduates already in debt from student loans.
