Oklahoma – Adults With At Least A Bachelor’s Degree: 27%
Oklahoma residents would have expected it to appear earlier on this list, given the state’s decent educational standard (WalletHub ranks it as the 23rd best). Unfortunately, low enrollment in higher education cements the state’s ranking as the 11th least educated country. Oklahomans can take comfort because their total student loan debt, at $25,793, is among the lowest in the world. Less than half of the graduates in the state are currently paying off student loans.
Tennessee – Adults With At Least A Bachelor’s Degree: 31%
Few students in the Volunteer State are inspired to pursue their education, resulting in an attainment rating of 41 out of 50. Tennessee’s educational standard is a little higher, but it’s still not great — WalletHub ranks it 31st. The state’s highest-rated institution, Vanderbilt University, is ranked No. 27 on Forbes’ list, but it’s the only college in Tennessee to make the top 100.
