Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology
Fairfax County Public Schools and the business community collaborated to establish Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology to improve student education in mathematics, science, and technology. The school has stringent admissions requirements, including an entrance exam, a personal essay, letters of recommendation from others, and a track record of academic excellence. Students’ demonstrated aptitude and passion for studies in the mathematical, scientific, and technological fields are critical factors in the admissions process.

Carnegie Vanguard High School
Carnegie Vanguard High School, a community-centered magnet school, offers AP, pre-AP, and Honors electives as part of its curriculum. Academically, all students at the school are identified as gifted and talented. Furthermore, every student takes and passes the AP exam. Almost all of the students went on to four-year colleges or universities. Completing 100 hours of community service and ten Advanced Placement courses are two of the requirements for graduation.
