Brooklyn Latin School
The classical liberal arts curriculum is taught at Brooklyn Latin School. Science, math, history, English, Latin, a modern world language, and art history are all covered in depth. The emphasis in all of the classes is on structured writing and public speaking. Students take part in Socratic seminars and learn by communicating using formal discussion rules. Students also divide learning tasks into small groups and teach each other. Latin and laboratory sciences are required of all students for four years. Also, each student writes an extended research essay.
