Bronx High School of Science
Bronx High School of Science is a group of schools designated by the NYC Department of Education as Specialized High Schools. The schools cater to the needs of gifted students in New York City. This selective public high school focuses on a college preparatory curriculum that includes foreign language, fine arts, math, English, social studies, and science courses. Eight foreign languages are taught at the school. Drama, health, and visual arts are all required classes. In addition to the Bronx High School of Science’s fast-paced science and math curriculum, every ninth-grader takes a writing seminar and a research literacy course.
Suncoast Community High School
Innovative Interactive Technology, Computer Science, International Baccalaureate (IB), Math, Science, and Engineering are four magnet programs offered by Suncoast Community High School, a public college-preparatory high school. A variety of AP and IB courses are available at the school. All of its students take AP courses, and IB courses are taken by 52%. Students at Suncoast Community High School can earn one of three diplomas: standard, IB, or AP International. To gain real-world experience, students can complete an executive internship.
