Stuyvesant High School
The NYC Department of Education granted Specialized High School status to a group of schools, including Stuyvesant High School. The high school’s academic program focuses on math, science, and technology, but it also offers various other courses, such as criminal law and journalism. A comprehensive humanities program is offered at the high school. Students study a single foreign language for three years. There are five bands, a symphony orchestra, and a jazz combo at the high school. The school also hosts several theatrical performances.
Brooklyn Technical High School
The New York City Department of Education has designated Brooklyn Technical High School as a Specialized High School. These schools cater to the needs of gifted students in New York City. Technology, science, mathematics, and engineering are the focus of this public high school. There are 18 majors available at Brooklyn Technical High School. Students who enjoy designing, building, and working with their hands will enjoy the school’s emphasis on applied science.
