The Largest Butterfly On The Planet Is A Lady
Compared to the other entries on the list, butterflies are pretty small. However, Queen Alexandra’s birdwing butterfly is the biggest of them all. It has a wingspan of 11 inches, almost one whole foot. It lives exclusively in Papua New Guinea and had been discovered by a naturalist and wildlife collector by the name of Albert Steward Meek back in 1906. The female ones are nothing short of stunning. They are also much bigger than the male counterparts, who have more vibrant colors in their blue and green wings. The female ones, on the other hand, have brown wings that have white triangles on them.
The Longest Earthworm Is More Than Nine Feet Long
All right, this one is a little gross. We know that you do not really want to waste your brain cells on the slippery creatures sliding in and out of the soil. However, these creatures are really quite fascinating. The Giant Gippsland earthworm is among the biggest things lurking below the ground. It can reach a length of 9.8 feet and has a lifespan of five years. Despite everything, there is no need for you to worry. We doubt that you are going to find one of these in your front lawn. After all, they prefer to live in the wet subsoils near riverbanks and rarely come above the ground! Are you relieved to hear that?
