Strategy Come Under Scrutiny
Knowing that this new strategy recommended to the investigators can somehow be effective, even though it can lead to great resource findings, it has come under scrutiny. The science adviser of the American Civil Liberties Union, Tania Simoncell, told The Washington Post, “If [familial] DNA testing was] practiced routinely, we would be subjecting hundreds of thousands of innocent people who happen to be relatives of individuals in the FBI database to lifelong genetic surveillance.” We can’t argue that she has a point but how will this case be solved?
No More Choices
Besides this, the investigators pursue the use of familial testing. In fact, Brandenburg told the True Crime Daily that it was all that they have left to try. The entire team cannot think any more about how they can solve this very complicated case and they cannot also think of any more possible strategies that they can use if the familial DNA testing still won’t work. With nothing left to do, the forensic submitted the suspect’s DNA and waited for a word whether it is approved for treatment or not.
