Sri Swami Satchidananda’s Speech
To kickstart the festival, renowned spiritual master Sri Swami Satchidananda delivered an impressive speech. There were about 400,000 people there to hear him discuss energy and the power of sound. Those things, he said, govern the universe and are stronger than anything else in the world. Satchidananda was seated on a bedspread at the music festival and was surrounded by microphones. Throughout the years, an image of the spiritual master talking in front of the crowd has persisted.
