Virginia – Adults With At Least A Bachelor’s Degree: 42%
A large number of graduates have come from the Mother of Presidents and the Mother of States. The Old Dominion scores for educational attainment and educational quality are among the world’s top ten. It also has the fourth-highest number of people with a graduate degree among its residents. The University of Virginia, Washington and Lee University, and the College of William and Mary were all ranked in the top 50 on Forbes’ list.

In the Evergreen State, there isn’t much red ink. It performs well on both primary tests. Washington ranks ninth in terms of educational attainment and tenth in terms of educational efficiency. The University of Washington – Seattle and Whitman College, both ranked 64th and 89th in the country by Forbes, are its top-rated colleges. Despite these rankings, Washington’s overall unemployment rate in 2019 was 4.3 percent, tied for seventh highest in the country with Kentucky.
