Hardin is a folk artist with one major hit, “If I Were a Carpenter” When he performed his song on stage, the fans loved it. When they heard it on the radio, they loved it as much as they did!

The land on which the festival took place was owned by a farmer named Max Yasgur. Woodstock moved him to tears. He was famously quoted as saying, “If we join them, we can turn those adversities that are the problems of America today into a hope for a brighter and more peaceful future.” Woodstock almost did not happen because there was no venue for the organizers, but this guy saved the festival!
